‘Bare Root’ is a term which describes fruit trees and ornamental trees that hibernate or ‘go dormant’ in the winter months. They can be transported without heavy soil-filled pots much more cheaply by the folks at Dave Wilson Nursery who grow our trees for us. We can then extend substantial discounts on bare root trees to our customers during the months of January and February until they come out of dormancy and must be transplanted into pots in March.
